This paper deals with the modeling, the identification and the simulation of the dynamical behavior of the internal anal sphincter and more explicitely with the ano-rectal inhibitory reflex. The approach is based first on a ``black-box'' linear model definition related with the experimentation conducted in the ``Laboratoire de Physiologie Digestive''. Our first goal was to try to find a easly identifiable linear model in order to determine clearly a pathological comportment on a set of patient. The second goal of this studie was to determine if it was possible to design an artificial bio-mechanical system able to replace the disfunctioning muscle for this kind of reflex. We are presenting here the first part of this work and the beginning of the definition of our prothesis project.

Keywords: Linear modeling of bio-mechanical system, identification, simulation, Artificial bio-mechanical system conception.
